Does anyone know of a credit repair service that will remove one item from your credit report for free?

- Yeah you....if it's deserved send a letter yourself....justify your position and see what happens.
- You can do it yourself easily. Get copies of all 3 reporting agencies (trans union, experian and equifax). Regardless if the negative item is true or not you should dispute it. If they don't go to the source and get back to you within 30 days, the agency has to remove it from your report. I did it after a BK and although it didn't remove the BK it got rid of a lot of the bad credit card accounts that were on the reports.
- Credit repair services can't remove items that are true. Don't dispute hings that are true; you could get your account flagged as filing frivolous disputes, in which case, they might not process you when you are trying to fix a real error. An earlier answer claims to have submitted a mass of disputes. They can't hurt their credit much: they have already been declared bankrupt. Beware of taking financial advice from someone who's own finances are admitted to be a mess.
- No... there are none... A site I've used for info in the past ... http://debt.123thebest.info/credit_card.html Good Luck.
