  1. You can't take them off. They will just be listed as paid.
  2. Gerri Detweiler is a personal credit expert. She just made a post yesterday about removing inquiries from your credit report. You might want to follow her posts to learn about the do's and don'ts of personal credit.
  3. You can't take it off but you can write a note, less than 100 words to be included along with the report, next to the negative information. If you mail it to all three credit bureaus, they must include it.
  4. You CAN get negative items off of your report - especially if they are paid. Paid collections come off about 80% of the time when you dispute the trade line with the credit bureaus. Look on your credit report and see which bureaus the item is reporting to (usually listed on the far right hand side). Send dispute letters to the bureaus, but do NOT admit to owing the debt. The burden falls on the bureaus to prove it. They will contact the creditor to verify the information. Most times, when the item is paid, they will not respond to the bureaus and - by law - the bureaus must take it off of your report. I do it ALL the time with my clients, so don't believe people who tell you that you can't. If it doesn't work the first time, keep trying.
