How can i delete a paid item on my credit report?
Just wanted to know what can i do to delete a paid item. My credit report was updated from unpaid to paid less than full balance. I went today to a credit repair guy and he told me he is pretty sure he can delete this item. thanks

- I've been trying to delete things that were paid on my credit report for awhile, I haven't been able to do it. The closest thing I've heard about is continually sending letters to the credit Grantor disputing the account. apparently if they don't answer in 30 days it's deleted. But they've answered all of mine.
- first of all you cant just delete things from your credit report they stay on there for 8 years until they are no longer eligible to be based on. if you pay something thats on your credit report it depends on first how long its been on there && 2 why. ex. your car is totaled your insurance pays for $4000 in damages && you owe $2000 but they junk the car and then put on your credit its a repo. first if you payed the $2000 call the credit bureau there are 3 different ones equifax experian and transunion call whichever one neccesary and explain the situation YOU'LL NEED PROOF call them not some place that says they'll do it for however much cause itll cost u an arm & a leg & itll never happen if not call the collections agency && talk with them about paying it asap to make it look better for your credit hope i helped
- Generally, you can't unless you can prove that the item is false.
