  1. Dont pay anyone to help you fix you credit.....do it yourself. 1. Go to http://annualcreditreport.com and get free copies of all your reports. 2. Once you see all the people you owe, contact them and make payment arrangements (reduced lump sum payment OR monthly payments for the whole debt). 3. Dispute anything on your report that doesnt belong to you. Stick to it....after about 6 months, you should see a difference.
  2. Don't pay anyone to fix your credit. You'll just waste money doing something you can easily do yourself. You need to dispute these other debts and see if they answer the disputes. You might also try pay for deletion agreements. If you just pay them without getting deletion, you'll have less money AND bad credit. Negotiate before you pay.
  3. Dispute your negative with the credit bureaus. Get a copy of your report pick out some of those neg and send a certified letter to the big three. Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. A good method for getting results is posted at this free forum http://www.creditforums.org/f13/got-my-results-today-disputes-346/ The only cost to you will be the cost to send a certified letter. Also keep all your letter you send. You need to keep all records. You can also visit creditboards.com for more info on disputing
  4. Fix up your credit for free...do it yourself. When you pay someone they do the exact same thing and don't usually persue it as agressively because hey it's not their problem! 1. Order your credit reports from the 3 bureaus www.equifax.com www.experian.com www.transunion.com If you're ordering for the first time, get your score (for a fee) from Equifax as their scoring matters most. 2. Make copies of your report and put the originals in a binder. On the photocopied reports use a highlighter and check for any incorrect, outdate, false, etc...info 3. Download a dispute letter(s) from the credit bureaus website and list anything that is wrong. Mail them to their office(s). They have 30 days to reply. 4. If they will not remove something that is not yours or too old (> 7 years) as them for a debt validation. This may take an additional 30 days. 5. Once the 'baddies' come off, take care not to let any of your other accounts fall into that predicament. 6. If you haven't already make sure your existing accounts are current and paid on time ALWAYS. 7. Get a secured credit card with www.capitalone.com or www.mastercard.com for like $500-1000 or more if you can and use it sparingly. Charge like $50 on the card each month and pay it in FULL and on TIME. Make sure you do this for a minimum of 6 months so that you estabish a positive repayment history. 8. Problem with just letting them (collections) 'fall off' is that they may never. You may get sued before that...that's where you suddenly get a summons to appear in court and a judgment for collection against you. For collection items...pay them but get a 'pay for delete' from the collection agency in WRITING...they'll delete it after you pay and it will help your credit score.
  5. Get a copy of your credit report. Start with the newest derogatory item and work back to the oldest. The older the item, the less impact on your score. If anything is close to the 7 year mark, you may want to just let it age off. Single entry items like cell phone, medical, and utility bills can usually be settled with a pay for delete, even at a discounted rate. This will help your score. Pay for delete doesn't work so well with regularly reported items like credit cards. The collection agency can only remove what they reported. The original creditor's charge off remains. If the debt is over 3 years old, offer 25%; 2 or 3 years old, offer 50%; less than 2 years, offer 75%. Lump sum gets the best deals. Any payment plan has to be short term. Get any settlement offer in writing before you pay. Keep it along with your payment proof, forever. Do not give the collector direct access to your bank account. Be careful about disputing legit items on your file. Sometimes that works but only for a short period. The derogatory items tend to return when the creditor next updates. Also, repeatedly disputing everything will get you tagged by the credit bureaus and you will have a very difficult time getting any errors removed in the future.
  6. Try this site it worked for me!
  7. To raise your credit score you need to do two things: 1 - add positive things to your credit records. Such as paying your bills on time! 2 - Remove negative things from your records. These may be mistakes made by the credit report companies or bills you haven’t paid! If your problems aren’t too bad or too complicated than you can do this yourself. This review site gives you e-books to explain the process and guide you through it: <http://www.onlinebestinformation.com/credit-repair-diy-review/> if your problem is complex - or you just don’t have the time or patience to do it yourself then you will want to use a credit repair company.
