  1. Always pay off your monthly bills IN FULL. If you make the minimum payment only, you will get a ok score. to improve your score: - pay on time - have 2 to 3 credit cards - do not ask for credit check too often (it hurts every time you apply for a loan / credit card /...) - have high credit lines.
  2. 3 different credit reporting agencies all get information from any company you sign up with offering you credit[invisible money] and then when you don't pay they post it on your credit report..... after so long your credit score starts to go down and then you have bad credit and wont be able to do many things someone with good credit has!
  3. Credit bureau's (there are a few of them) keep track of what credit has been allotted to you through the registration of credit cards and other loan applications that go through. These are registered by the credit card companies and other financial companies when you engage with them. The score is affected by missing payments or getting into financial challenges with anyone over money exchanges. Just pay your bills on time, always pay off all of balance in credit cards each month and live within your means and all will be well. Few people understand that when they are "shopping" for a mortgage and go to a number of places, that each application they make out is a "hard hit" on their credit bureau and pulls the score down. You can check your own score (this is called a soft hit) and it has no affect on your score and a good habit to get into to do once a year to make sure that there are no errors on your bureau report. The score goes up with good behaviour and down with bad ~ simply put :):)
  4. Get a credit card from local bank and pay it in time. You also can use this service to avoid common mistakes while buiding credit and pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of payments. - credit-report-free.totalh.com
