  1. If there are inaccuracies in your credit report, you can fix those yourself. Call the credit bureaus and explain it to them. If the credit reports are accurate, but ugly, the only thing you can do to rebuild your credit is to get current with your creditors, then start paying off what you owe.
  2. You may not have to contact an agency; you can actually work on your report yourself. Now that you have the reports, take a look to see what accounts you are delinquent/overdue and those that are current. I took the initiative and contacted whoever 'owned' the delinquent accounts (banks, creditors, etc). and made payment arrangements to pay off the debts. The creditor's information is generally found on the Credit Report. Once they were paid off, I requested a statement of Paid in Full from whomever I paid off the debts (note: I also kept a copy of all my payments and receipts from those payments as well). I then sent copies of the paid in full statements to the credit reporting agencies, requesting that the negative report be removed, as the debt was paid. If they agency requires more info, I would send it, or they would send me a letter confirming the changes. It is not a quick or easy process, but it can help your credit score, without paying a ton of fees to a consulting agency..
  3. begin to pay all things on time and in 36 months you will begin to gget a better rating. this takes time. good luck to you
