Repair Credit Report Help

How bad is my credit?

I am 20 and have had a card for about 6 month's. I have paid late about half the time, but have paid in full when they call. So will this look bad on a credit report? How long will it take to fix, if long at all?

  1. its might be b/w 400 and 550. it would take like a year and a hafl to fix it.
  2. I think it takes a while to build up your credit. But you can check you credit report once a year for free @ www.freecreditreport.com just dont do it too much because they take a point away every time you check it.
  3. It will look bad for someone new to credit you should pay on time what does it show them when someone new cannot pay on time. To me it looks as if you do not care it looks as if you could be a credit risk.
  4. I agree with the above answer, and if you continue down this path you will eventually 'miss a payment', then another, and then the credit downward spiral will get out of control. To improve you know you need to pay it off (or at least the minimum) when you get your statement, not waiting until they call. Building and improving your credit responsibly now, will put you in a good position when having good credit matters (i.e. car loan, furnishing an apartment, travel, home, etc.) after you get out of college. From personal experience, credit is a very slippery slope. Use it wisely and it can help open up doors and give you the financial leverage when you need it. But use it poorly and you can close more doors than you can imagine and make life more difficult for you for years if not decades. It take much longer to fix bad credit than it takes to ruin it. So even though this is your first card and you are young, don't start off on the wrong foot and take the "free" money for granted, because it definitely isn't free.
  5. Depending on how many days you were late. After a year with no late payments, you'll be clean. To improve your credit, pay back your card as soon as you can.
  6. Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have... however there exists a solution. I will hereby talk from my personal experience. I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details, if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan, however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first, a good place to start in my humble opinion is astraight to the point ebook with question and answer I found : http://umgarticles.atspace.com/debt-consolidation.htm if it helps kindly remember me in your voting!.. cheers!
