Repair Credit Report Help

Looking for High Risk Lenders or loand for people with bad credit?

I am looking for a lender to help me out with our situation but I am not sure where to look. My fiance and I both have horible credit, his is from his recent divorce and being diagnosed with an illness that put him out of work for a while with no medical insurance and mine is from having from having to support myself on my credit cards after I lost my job. We are both working now and would like to fix our credit reports and pay off our debts for obvious reasons. So we are looking for a loan to consolidate debts and have some money to pay for our wedding. We are looking to borrow 20,000 dollars. However with bad credit it has not been easy to find someone to lend to us. I have received several calls from people who are going to lend to us if we send money up front which leads me to believe they are trying to scam us. My dad mentioned that there may be places that would use my car as collateral for the loan but I dont know where to look for that either. I understand that there are also lenders out there who may be willing to lend to us at a higher interest rate and that would be okay with me too as long as we can find someone who will actually lend to us. I have tried prosper but to no avail. I am in the San Francisco bay area in California and my hope is that I can get a list of local lenders that may be willing to lend to us but i have also realized that I would like to be able to go into the office and have a personal relationship with the lender. The really unfortunate thing is that our bank doesn't offer personal loans. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel as though credit couseling and debt settlement are not the way to go for us as I have already worked dilligently with our creditors so that we could come to payback terms that would please both parties. We feel we have a good handle on the situation and we just need the money to be able to pay everything off and have one lump sum payment, hence the idea that a debt consolidation loan would be best for us. We are currently living on a tight budget so this loan would serve many functions. It would bring us current on anything that we are behind on. It would pay off our debts, give us a nice nest egg in the bank, ans help us to pay for our own wedding coming up next year. I have budgeted that we can afford payments up to about $700 a month to pay back this loan so I would not mind doing something with high interest at least for the time being and once our credit starts to improve I suppose we always have the option of refinancing the loan at a lower interest rate. Through this process we are both learning the value of having a good credit score but we are asking for some interim help to get us there.

  1. Try LendingClub.com. You have to register under Facebook. This is a P2P site like Prosper. I've tried this site but it wont work properly for me to fill out all of loan request. It may be my browser.
  2. There are plenty of places that offer quick loans for people with bad credit with no-hassle applications and easy requirements. Some of these lenders even offer 1 minute approvals, and have both secured and unsecured loans, depending on your need and situation.
