What is a legitimate company to fix my credit report?

  1. Well of course you can always go to a company that is "licensed and bonded." basically it is like a license that they paid lots and lots of money to get and sell this service to you. But why don't you do it yourself. It's not that hard. I used to be in that industry and it does not take alot of time or even money to do it
  2. Just a suggestion, but though you can always pay someone to do credit repair, consumer groups always stress that you can also do it yourself for free and be just as effective. Using someone else will generate a fee of course, for their services. The Internet is full of sites that give recommendations on the steps to take to repair one's credit. The following is an example: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20011008b.asp
  3. I cannot stress this enough. Do not hire anyone to fix your credit. Credit isn't something that gets fixed. My credit was "broke" and guess who broke it?. It was me. Only I and time can make my credit improve. Start by getting copies of your credit report from the 3 reporting companies. Sorry but I'm not going any further. It's all here on the net for you to find. Good luck and remember, don't hire anyone to fix your credit. They are predators, hoping to part you from your money.
  4. The best is a not-for-profit credit counselling service. Just google to find one in your area.
