  1. try to apply for a small loan and keep up ur payments and keep on borrowing more money when it comes available to you and it should get a lil better. and when it does go to bigger things like a credit card. but keep in mind its to make ur credit look good not to splurge on urself and screw it up.
  2. You cannot legally fix a bad credit report if the information is legitimate no matter how much money you pay. There are a lot of scams that do things that are not legal- check out companies with the local Better Business Bureau. You can get a book by Nolo Press (http://www.nolo.com/resource.cfm) that will help you with legitimate steps to remove mistakes and work with what you have to improve with time- which amounts to reestablishing credit by paying on time and not overcharging accounts.
  3. Pay off all your bills and wait. It will take a while before all the bad things come off your record, but eventually they will if you keep clean. Good luck.
  4. Pay all of your bills on time, every time, for the next 7 years, and you will have perfect credit.
  5. Make sure you always pay your bills on time. Pay any outstanding collections that may be on your report. Hold a steady job. Don't move. Don't ask for credit too much. It lowers your rating. If there was a problem on your report, write a letter to the credit reporting agency giving a reason why so future creditors can see this. Make them believe it was a temporary situation like you went through a divorce or something bad happened like you lost your job. Of course you need to be honest. If you don't have a credit card, and haven't been able to obtain one, then apply to a place like Capital One. You may have to pay a deposit, but they will eventually give it back. And wait for time to pass.
  6. You can try to do it yourself. Good luck with that, though. There are over 300 laws in the Fair Credit Reporting Act that govern how to repair your credit. You practically need a law degree to understand it all. The good news is that if you do understand it, you should be able to remove anything from your report. The lady above had it right, if the information is accurate and does NOT violate any one of the laws in the FCRA the information cannot be removed from your reports. Here is the part she failed to tell you, it is virtually impossible to report information to the credit bureaus without violating at least one of those laws. You are likely better off spending the money to get the job done correctly by a professional. The key word there is PROFESSIONAL. There are only a handful of legitimate professional credit restoration companies in the United States. Do your due dilligence and ask a lot of questions. The Credit Repair Organizations Act is the set of laws that governs how credit repair companies must conduct business. Make sure you are familiar with it before you select a company.
