Repair Credit Report Help

Can you remove inquires that say paid/settled or closed from your credit report?

I contacted a credit repair service which says they can remove these is this really true or a waste of money. I just want to repair my credit but these inquires look bad on my report. So before I dish out alot of money need some advice, THANKS
